What is an armor tattoo?

These tattoo styles aim to replicate the traditional defensive pieces used in combat. Although armor has existed since the most remote times of humanity – Egyptians, Hoplites and Sumerians used them, as well as Roman and Chinese soldiers – these tattoos are usually inspired by the armor of the Middle and Modern Ages, from the 14th to the 18th centuries.

The story behind this armor tattoo

This client asked me to create a custom Armor tattoo for him, for a half chest and full sleeve. He wanted to include a Vegvisir” an ancient viking compass, symbol of protection and guidance in life. So, I suggested placing it as main design for the chest.
